Last night or at abought the break of dawn I was awakened by a physical manifestation of a psychic attack. An entity or spirit was in the bed with me and I was frozen. Laying on my left side I was unable to move being held against my will by it. I was frozen in fear and prayed to God over and over again for I do not know how long until it was gone and I was freed to turn and move to my right side, Still in fear I continued to pray until I fell back asleep. It could have been what was called a "night terror" but I felt an evil presence and it scared me to death...only my prayers freed me.
Needless to say it was an unpleasant night.
I awoke to an inch of snow on the ground and now...rain which might freeze and 3 hang up telephone calls.
I have had enough of all this and wonder what to do. I have a friend who practices reiiki who claims that 2007 has yielded many psychic attacks and that I am not the only one. This does not make me feel better.

In my opinion, the idea of "nowness" is often entirely misunderstood. A warrior may like to laugh, have fun, or do things that feel good. However, living in the moment or being present in the moment does not mean addiction and sense gratification. Some people understand nowness to mean do what feels good now and dont worry about the consequences to yourself or others. While the warriors choices are not fear based, they are considered with compassion for yourself and others. Living present in the moment does not mean a disregard for your health and wellbeing, or the wellbeing and natural rights of others.
Addiction and base desire is actually the opposite of nowness. Nowness is about wholeness and contentment. Want is about lack and need. Nowness is about having and being, about being fulfilled in every moment, living and accepting it whether you have your creature comforts or not. The warrior may indulge from time to time, but the enemy of the warrior is addiction and being controlled by base desires. Nowness is about liberation from addiction and routines, not about giving in to them. Its about finding contentment in the moment and living strategically.

I believe that the warrior also looks to the future. The difference is that the warrior is fully grounded in the present moment. The warriors ideas about reality and the general situation are not solidified but fluid. When the warrior thinks strategically, he or she is aware of whats right in front of them, and considers whats happening right at this very moment while observing the flow of energy and movement of time, space, and events. The warrior does not become divorced from the present moment and get distracted from it by imagined projections of the mind. The warrior observes what is directly in front of him or her, and acts accordingly, always ready to jump on the next cubic centimeter of chance. The warrior is fully present in the moment, but is also goal oriented and does consider how to get from point A to point B. Nowness is not a rejection of awareness about the movement towards the future, but a practice of not divorcing your awareness from the present moment. Our imagined projections of the way we see the world in our mind are usually poor representations of the actual world around us. Direct seeing and fluid awareness is better.

I believe these teachings are often misunderstood. The old saying "you gotta live for the moment", does not really capture the warriors idea of nowness. The warrior may at times indulge in life's pleasures, but the warrior acts with awareness and consideration, not out of base compulsion.

The more creative your vision, the better. The more outlandish, the more possibly inspiring, brainstorm-style!

i got this particular idea after reading the following:

"Instead of the degradation ceremonial of psychiatric examination, diagnosis and prognostication, we need, for those who are ready for it (in psychiatric terminology, often those who are about to go into a schizophrenic breakdown), an initiation ceremonial, through which the person will be guided with full social encouragement and sanction into inner space and time, by people who have been there and back again. Psychiatrically, this would appear as ex-patients helping future patients to go mad."

from:
http://www.laingsociety.org/colloquia/peaceconflict/divisions.levine.htm

There is some really good reading here. Here are some excerpts for the expected skeptics to think about:

"In the opinion of Dr. Thomas Szasz, psychiatry may be the new secular religion in an age of pseudo-science:

"The discerning reader may detect a faint note of familiarity here. Modern psychiatric ideology is an adaptation-to a scientific age-of the traditional ideology of Christian theology. Instead of being born into sin, man is born into sickness. Instead of life being a vale of tears, it is a vale of diseases. And, as in his journey from the cradle to the grave man was formerly guided by the priest, so now he is guided by the physician. In short, whereas in the Age of Faith the ideology was Christian, the technology clerical, and the expert priestly; in the Age of Madness the ideology is medical, the technology clinical, and the expert psychiatric.

"Thus psychiatry, like the nuclear family, becomes an instrumental motive force in the creation of the total social institution; through a process of mystification, both define normality and mould the individual into the one-dimensional shape of social utility. Laing calls this mystification a political act of "violence masquerading as love". "

and:

"'From the moment of birth, when the Stone Age baby confronts the twentiety-century mother, the baby is subjected to these forces of violence, called love, as its mother and father, and their parents and their parents before them, have been. These forces are mainly concerned with destroying most of its potentialities, and on the whole this enterprise is successful. By the time the new human being is fifteen or so, we are left with a being like ourselves, a half-crazed creature more or less adjusted to a mad world. This is normality in our present age.'

"Some people can adapt to this system. We call them normal. "Society highly values its normal man. It educates children to lose themselves and to become absurd, and thus to be normal," Laing tells us. "Normal men have killed perhaps 100,000,000 of their fellow normal men in the last fifty years." But some cannot adapt to this imposed normality. They break down. Instead, they devise a strategy to deal with their inability to hold their invalidated experience ant their sense of themselves together. As Laing puts it, "it seem to us that without exception the experience and behaviour that gets labeled schizophrenic is a special strategy that a person invents in order to live in an unlivable situation".

"Though, in [David] Cooper's phrase, the schizophrenic may look like someone whose "logic" is "ill", he is, in reality, someone, who has been made an invalid because his experience has been invalidated. For Laing and Cooper, schizophrenia is no 'something happening in a person but rather something between persons". Thus when one psychiatrist calls schizophrenia "a failure of human adaptation", Laing responds that it may as well be "a successful attempt not to adapt to pseudo-social realities". It all seems to be a matte of perspective: "Schizophrenia is a label affixed by some people to others in situations where an interpersonal disjunction of a particular kind is occurring. This is the nearest one can get at the moment to something like an 'objective' statement, so called."

"The validity of a definition is ultimately determined by the identity of the one who is defining. It is in this context that Laing argues: "There is no such 'condition' a 'schizophrenia,' but the label is a social fact and the social fact a political event." Seen from this radical perspective, all our definitions may have to be turned upside down ant inside out. "What we call 'normal' is", according to Laing "a product of repression, denial, splitting, projection, introjection and other forms. of destructive action on experience.... It is radically estranged from the structure of being." No wonder, then, that "the condition of alienation, of being asleep, of being unconscious, of being out of one's mind, is the condition of the normal man." On the other hand schizophrenia may be seen as an alienation from this alienation, where, "even through his profound wretchedness and disintegration", the patient may be "the hierophant of the sacred". Finally, "madness need not be all breakdown. It may also be break-through. It is potential liberation and renewal as well as enslavement and existential death."

"In _The Politics of Experience_, Laing describes how, in some instances, breakdown does become break-through; transforming the "schizophrenic experience" into a "transcendental experience". As depicted by Gregory Bateson, the schizophrenic embarks upon a voyage from the "outer" world of the "ego" to the "inner" world of the "self" -and back out again. He regards it as an archetypal journey that bears a close resemblance to descriptions of religious experience:

"It would appear that once precipitated into psychosis the patient has a course to run. He is, as it were, embarked upon a voyage of discovery which is only completed by his return to the normal world, to which he comes back with insights different from those of the inhabitants who never embarked on such a voyage."

A-hey, all my relations! (i'm just joining this 'tribe', and i want to speak right up!)

The following comments come from pages 32, 35-38 of _Wasase: indigenous pathways of action and freedom_ by Taiaiake Alfred a Kanienkeha (Mohawk) depth-charger, (published 2005 by broadview press). The book is an articulation of the idea of *decolonizing* ourselves (with an emphasis on indigenous folks in canada) from the mentality that colonizes indigenous peoples globally, both in exterior and interior ways. Tho Taiaiake doesn't go much into the idea of *settlers* (or long-colonized indigenous folks originally from other portions of Mom Earth) also taking up these ways of seeing and being, he does touch on the idea here and there, and keeps doors open to all whom are moved to participate.

To Note:
i want to share these in case anyone may be inclined to such a discussion, or want to be possibly inspired in their own inclined paths of resistance. You can hear Taiaiake speak on his website videos and read various indigenous, resurgent-oriented depth speakings here: www.wasase.org Notably i am *not* indigenous (to this side of mOm Earth), yet i feel a deep comradery with folks who speak their hearts, and practice decolonizing ways; a way i myself am practicing (to mostly isolated extents, so far) and finding meaning where meaning has seemed nonexistent.

Feel free to join in and point out what you may see as any blindspots in my thinking!

Taiaiake (herein called "You") said, page 32:
"European languages, [Leroy Little Bear] explains, centre on nouns and are concerned with naming things, ascribing traits, and making judgements."
--
i note how such facilitates the machinery of colonization, how such reflects the fundamentally "in formation" society, the chain-of-command/hierarchical structure that keeps the bottom line (which most of we settlers practice ignoring and denying until we cannot avoid it any longer).

You said, page 35:
If non-indigenous readers are capable of listening...
--
i say we usually stumble upon such due to the pervasiveness of thought control not only from the state/business nexus, but also vanguard control desires of those engaged in so-called "alternative" political endeavors.

You said:
Onkwehonwe have always fought for survival against imperialism and its drive to annihilate our existence.
--
i figure you're speaking of indigenous people, generally, so i want to add that *so do we settlers*! We have always fought, except our fighting has largely, in my view, been atomized and unarticulated, drawing on intuitive rebellion rather than radical consciousness. We no longer have the memories you have, yet everywhere kids "rebell" and are thus labeled "attention deficit disordered" or "oppositional defiant disordered" (re: via the DSM IV, *the* oft quite unscientific psychiatrick bible); and everywhere workers get drunk out of their minds; and so on.

You speak of "self-termination" movement, page 36
--
Is this a formal movement, or informal? i know of various indigenous friends who are caught up in this informally (so it seems to me). It sounds pervasive in a formal way in canada...is there evidence of this formality elsewhere? Can you give me any examples i can look into?

You mention "...the Settlers...", page 37:
Why not articulate/demystify further and better say what you mean, at least sometimes? Like: *the formalized formation* we are tooled and manipulated into participating, or otherwise going along with, while our settler politics systematically *DOES NOT* pay any attention to these things (and R.D. Laing's idea called "the meta game" continues unabated).

Am i making sense to you here at all? i'm wanting to identify and at the same time demystify the situation, and bring out the truth that we settlers are *more* than this categorization; by saying that, by allowing for grey areas in the language used, more of us may (?) feel free to speak our privated-away "opinions" and avoid the familiar habit to entrench ourselves in "settler" identities.

Do you see what i'm getting at here?

You say, page 37:
"...I am with the warriors who want to beat the beast...and teach it to behave."
--
Me, i wanna radically "kiss"/massage and art it (when i'm forced to experience it, that is), as an enchanted "prince" of radicalized, non-passive, depth peace, and turn it from its present form and back into its original heart (re: kidhood heart, before the FEAR enfortressed entrenched beliefs). (recall the euro story of "the frog prince")

You say, page 37:
"It is because [young people's] identities, their cultures, and their rights are under attack by a racist government."
--
Why not attempt to demystify this more deeply? Because i see (and i recall you also saying, later in the book) that racism is only one card played in *the severely alienated mentality of statecraft*. Why not say something like this? (i figure you're trying to reach out to those whom have been so mobilized around that word, yet still, don't you think it makes more sense to more deeply demystify?)

You said, page 38:
"Some people may find it shocking and absurd for me to suggest that an Onkwehonwe community is a kind of war zone. But anyone who has actually lived on a reserve will agree with this tragic analogy on some level."
--
i see varying levels of war truths (i.e. usually covert, such as deployed via the social "sciences") THROUGHOUT "civilized" societies across the spectrum!!

Shall i back this "shocking and absurd" notion up for you, or do you already see what i'm saying?

And i want to say that i think this is a way to speak to we settlers! And find our commonalities!

Well, i'll stop for now (okay with you if i go chapter by chapter, and keep things short?).

to radical's radical sanity!
cosmic-ly crazy mutt

The Warrior strives to reach above himself, his false perceptions, his adversaries... His highest achievement is not one of victory, but one of absolute truth.

A warrior, once a warrior, will always be a warrior.
A warrior is the epitome of controlled compassion & controlled violence.
A warrior speaks from the pure heart and mind, transcending the ego.
A warrior is one of great discipline.
A warrior is a man of few words, refraining from speaking without reason.
A warrior has not the luxury for excuses.
A warrior recognizes the differences between the meaningful & trivial.
A warrior can never afford fear, he lives in poverty of fear.
A warrior learns how to defend before the attack.
A warrior continues to develop the skills of his trade without end.
A warrior seeks unity of mind, body, & spirit.
A warrior understands the merits of compassion.
A warrior pursues a knowledge of all things, regardless of nature.
A warrior's profession is war, his product is peace.
A warrior integrates the practice of truth within all his day to day activities.
A warrior sees the truth within himself, within his adversaries, within the world.
A warrior is not separate from all things, but strives to flow as one with all things.
A warrior is as water taking the shape of its container.
A warrior places the lives of those innocent & weak above himself.
A warrior knows pain, sadness, joy, & solitude.
Have compassion for all beings, causing them no unnecessary hurt, nor needless harm.
Refrain from needless competitiveness, from contriving for self-advantage, and from subjugating others.
When accepting authority over others, know also that you accept responsibility for their well being.
Value true friendship, and fulfill your obligations, rather than striving with egotistical motive.
Seek liberation from the negative passions of hatred, envy, greed and rage, and especially from delusion, deceit and sensory desire.
Learn to let go of that which cannot be owned, or which is destroyed by grasping.
Seek the courage to be; defend yourself, and your convictions.
Accept transience, the inevitable and the irrevocable. Know that change exists in everything. Negate the barriers to your awakening; discover the positive in the negative, and seek a meaningful purpose in what you do.
Be just and honorable; take pride in what you do, rather than being proud of what you have accomplished.
Having humility and respect, give thanks to those from whom you learn, or who have otherwise helped you.
Act in harmony with your fellow beings, with nature, and with inanimate objects.
Know that a thing or an action which may seem of little value to oneself, may be a priceless treasure to another.
Help those who are suffering or disadvantaged, and as you yourself become awakened, help those who seek to make real their own potential.
Know that there is no shame in questioning.
Be diligent in your practice, and on hearing the music of the absolute, do not be so foolish as to try to sing its song.
Remember to renew the source, in order to retain good health.
Seek neither brilliance nor the void; just think deeply, and work hard.
When still, be as the mountain; when in movement be as the dragon riding the wind.
Be aware at all times, like the tiger which only seems to sleep, and at all times let the mind be like running water.
When you are required to act, remember that right motive is essential to right action, just as right thought is essential to right words.
Beware of creating burdens for yourself or others to carry.
Act with necessary distinction, being both creative and receptive, and transcending subject/object dichotomy.
Know that you are not the center of the universe, but learn to put the universe at your center by accepting the instant of your being.
Seek security within yourself, rather than in others.
Know that even great worldly wealth, and the accumulation of material things are of little worth, compared with the priceless treasures; love, peace and the freedom to grow.
Allow yourself to be, so that your life may become a time of blossoming.

Anyone who wants to be, we come from all walks, of life and adhere to a variety of beliefs. We aspire to be a Loving and Caring people toward one another and all the varied hues of our Mother Earth. To that end. we practise non-violence and peace activism, ecologically sound ways of living and respect for all beings, and ways of life. Some folks come to Rainbow for a chance to feel the Living Spirit, some for the fun of it, some for a chance to see those they Love. Most gather for a mixture of these reasons. We laugh, sing, play musical instru- ments, and share our experiences & dreams in our heartsongs. We strive to better ourselves and explore alternative life-styles, medicine, and ways to solve problems. We experience cooperative living. Sometimes we even seem to work a miracle. There are no leaders. Individuals (known as "Focalizers") try to facilitate the consensus of the, Rainbow Tribes on a local and/or national level. We circle for our meals, and councils because we are all equal. Decisions regarding a local family are made by consensus, wherever the need arises. Like at a regional picnic or council. Decision regarding the Rainbow Family of Living Light can only be made on the land, at the main tribunal council, from July 1-7th each year during the Gathering of the Tribes.

Who Do You Serve?

I didnt have change for the news paper so I squatted in front of the box to read the details of the headline story.
President George W. Bush after months of criticism had made a statement concerning the attack adds aimed at Senator John Kerry.
The criticism came from democrats not surprisingly. But the adds had generated more then the usual scorn.

A Vietnam veteran was running for president of the United States and his reputation was being called into question by other veterans. One of which stood by him a few years earlier calling him a hero. It was all very dramatic and the news industry was making the most of it. So I read as much as I could see.
Before the centerfold of the front page I came upon the George W. Bushs statement. He said that they
"...bad for the system.

A short laugh burst out of me and I then thought to myself, Pedro, hes doing the best that he can!
There are over six billion people on this planet and all of them are doing the best that they can with what they have at hand and what they know.

But what was it that made me laugh?
It came to me as I walked to catch my train.
I remembered what republican senator John McCain had said about the John Kerry attack adds.
He said they were dishonorable.
So here were two men, one being of service to a system
and another being of service to something called honor.

Who or What do I serve?
Its the question I began asking myself about a week after reading the article.
I paid a visit to a home town landmark.
Every state in the union has a copy of the Liberty Bell. One of these copies which were cast in France and given to the U.S. government in 1950 is in Perth Amboy NJ.
In New Jersey its in Perth Amboy which was at one time the state capitol.
The first line on the plaque reads DEDECATED TO YOU,
A FREE CITIZEN IN A FREE LAND.
After a history of the and the Saving Bond drive it was used to promote it reads, IN STANDING BEFORE THIS SYMBOL, YOU HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO DEDICATE YOURSELF, AS DID OUR FOUNDING FATHERS, TO PRINCIPLES OF THE INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM FOR WHICH OUR NATION STANDS.

That controversy I read about in that news paper was nearly six years ago. Today on the television George W. Bush held a press conference avor the new crontroversy. Senior Rebublicans joined Democrats in providing legal protections to prisoners in the war.

One of these senitors is John Mcain.
What's at issue? Weather torture is permisible.
Guess who's againts it?

People dedicate themselves to all kinds of things. Making money, family, healing, a political dogma, a glimpse of the truth.
What or who do you serve?

SKILLS FOR FREEDOM AND TRANSFORMATION

Everything we do is based on agreements we have made. What we agreed to believe creates what we experience. In his book The Four Agreements don Miguel Ruiz outlines the source of the self-limiting beliefs that rob us of joy and create needless suffering. Based on ancient Toltec wisdom, the four agreements offer simple but powerful tools we can use to transform our lives for a new experience of personal freedom, true happiness and authentic love.

We will meet four alternate Sunday evenings from 5:00 to 6:30 pm
Paul and Ariel are committed to joyfully sharing the tools and wisdom that they have discovered on their quest for transformation, personal freedom, and authentic happiness.
We have lots of workshops already on activism, herbs and medicines, liberation studies, permaculture, wilderness awarness, wholesome and raw foods and the like. And now I want Martial Arts.
But I am mostly busy. Yet with the help of Tribe.net, if I get a large enough response then I will be inspired to get this together for my brothers and sisters. I imagine 3 days of training, mixed with learning some of the subjects from above. Us warriors must be prepared. Our minds and Soul must be clean and powerful. Together, we must get it together.
Is any one feeling this?

I work in retail--lots of people interaction--and sometimes, when someone is whining, ridiculously demanding, incorrectly aggressive or trying to dump their lack of self-responibility into my lap...well, I just want to reach out and take them by the throat, give them a bit of a shake and explain a truer nature of the way things work beyond this facade of civilization. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a proponante of Chaos and generally agree with the rules of collective cooperation. It's just that most folks don't seem to understand that it's only a nebulous agreement and can vanish in an instant. They take it for something real and build their responses to life on it as if they're entitled to something without doing the work. They don't seem to get it that it's only by someone else's good graces that they aren't throttled when they knowingly or unknowingly break that agreement.

The frost is off the ground and the sap is rising in the trees, as is the blood in our veins. Its time to dust off the duct-taped foam and stretch our sword-wielding muscles for our weekly sparring sessions.

For those that are only hearing about this gathering for the first time, You are being invited into a three year old tradition of honor and friendly competition that meets at the feet of the Fremont Troll to play at the noble art of the sword. Whether you have formal training in any style, or none at all, you are welcome to come learn, train, play, and laugh with other Warriors form Seattle and around the Sound. We have had folks drive up all the way from Olympia every week. This is an extremely loose and informal group. There are no dues and no obligation to show, unless you have given your word that you will.

Traditionally, we have met at the Fremont Troll on Wednesday or Thursday around 8:00 pm, but this year, I'm doing a little market research to insure the greatest turn-out. Please respond to this message with the best day of the week and time for you to join us. In making your decision, please consider that we've been known to patron the Dubliner for a pint or two after the carnage. So, If you don't want to show up at your weekly dinner with Grandma stinkin' like a sweaty pub monkey, chose wisely.

We would prefer that everyone bring their own Boffer, but it is not at all unusual for us to share. If you would like to build your own, I have some plans that I found on the net and edited somewhat. Let me know and I'll message them to you. For now, dream of flashing duct-tape and the glory of battle.

Peace,

I have been busy finishing up my book. I am really excited about how it has turned out. Last weekend, I went to a book marketing conference, and learned all kinds of cool stuff about how to self publish a book.

My biggest problem right now is coming up with a title that is both descriptive and catchy. Will you help me come up with a title? The title is supposed to have two parts, the heart, and the head.
The heart is something juicy that grabs you.
The head is some thing descriptive that explains what the book is about.
Great titles are both tricky to come up with, and very, very important.
I would really appreciate your help.
Below is a description of the book as a whole. At the URL listed, you will find the outline, and the first page of the book. Please give it a look over, and tell me what title you would make you want
To look inside the cover if you saw it in a bookstore.
I'll give you a free copy of the book when it comes out if you can come up with a great title. Heck, if you are the first to come up with a word that is used in the final title, I'll give you a book.

Here are some tips:
How can you describe it without sounding too intellectual.. but intelligent?
What is a title that is catchy, but not kitschy?
The title should imply some kind of coming together,
a synthesis, a merging of some sort.
Fewer words are better.

Here is the way I describe the book as a whole:

This book is an integrative approach to psycho-spiritual transformation. It weaves together philosophies and techniques from a variety of schools of thought in a new way, creating
an overview that touches on many aspects of the human experience. Some of he prevalent resources for information that I have drawn from are Tantric and Buddhist philosophy, Jungian and transpersonal psychology, core shamanism, western mystery school traditions, as well as the new physics, a la 'What the Bleep." It is a holographic approach to personal growth.
The book presents ten basic metaphysical principles, separated into ten chapters. The chapters are organized by principles of numerological correspondences. For example, the first chapter deals with the basic unity of all creation, the second relates to duality and polarity, and so on and so forth.
Your sexual energy is your life force and a potent ally on the spiritual journey. Many of us were taught that we would be safe or spiritual only by suppressing our sexual energy. Yet dampening your own life force squelches your creativity and the fire of your life. Join us in a place of healing where you will learn practical techniques to dissolve stagnation or fear residing in your second chakra and how to fully open to the Divine. This workshop includes a ritual fire walk to help us align and focus all of our energy to move beyond inner obstacles and to embrace our highest potential.

I have just joined this tribe and look foward to experiencing the power of fellow warriors. I was introduced to the Toltec path as a practical path of transformation about two years ago. In the last sixt months I have been doing an apprenticeship (if you want to call it that) with Allan Hardman who in a Nagual trained by don Miguel Ruiz. Just yesterday I submitted an application to begin Dreaming with Barbara and Miguel. To make this commitment there is great restructuring of lifestyle to come.

Are there others here that have been or are being apprenticed by Toltec masters, or have been or are Dreaming?

In the last couple of months I have lived with the intent to treat myself with ruthless love. It has been a beatiful process and far more effective for me than mush love, which is often not love at all but something rather... impotent. This ruthless love business has been directly brought about through the Warrior within. How has this sort of love manifested for others?

In gratitude,

Many cultures depict warriors in there religions. It is not because of what they have done in battle but rather with themselves. A true warrior fights no one because there is no one to fight but one self.

We admire warriors because of their attributes such as self dicipline, courage and strength. these are things that must be gained in warrior training by polishing ones spirit.

We polish our spirit by fighting ourselves. A warriors true enemies are laziness, anger, jealousy, Hate, fear, avarice, and many other negative emotions she must face on a daily basis. Only by confronting these negative emotions is one truely on the path of a warrior.

I have fought many battles and won nothing. I have fought my self and by doing so have found my self. A real warriors weapons are love and peace, never attacking only defending. For she realizes that all humans are one with her and by polishing her own spirit she will heal the world.

It's been extinct for about 4000 years when Babylon began to rise. The Mesopotamian pantheons were strong with dominant females, unlike the area today which is completely opposite. Inanna, Anath, Ereshkigal, these are my favorite female goddesses, and they were all warriors. Inanna/Ishtar lead the armies.
The Rainbow Warriors

There are many Native American prophecies about the “Warriors of the Rainbow. ”They will come at a time when the fish are dying, the birds are falling from the sky, the waters are polluted, and the trees and mankind are dying. These Light Warriors of the Rainbow will love and accept one another, regardless of color, race or religion. With a mission to heal Earth and all her children in the “Day of Awakening, ”they will create a New World in which Justice, Peace, Freedom and Love will prevail. They will then teach the people of Earth how to honor The Great Spirit, and to live in balance and harmony with natural law. Might we be Rainbow Warriors?
Take Your Power

What creates power within a ceremony? First and foremost is proper alchemy. You do not obtain power by seeking it; you obtain it by becoming more natural. You must be open and receptive to whatever is happening at any given time. By first connecting with the alchemy contained within the order and structure of nature, you may make intimate contact with the elements (fire, water, air, earth) and the worlds (mineral, plant, animal, human and ancestors), feeling and KNOWING union with All That Is. You may then achieve excellence by embodying the vision, heart and clarity of your intent, which gives you focus. Focus is being in the here and now. It is essential to stay present in the happening so your attention does not wander. As your intent and focus are clear, you will create the opportunity to catch your moment of power as a Rainbow Warrior and will be at cause rather than at effect. All ceremonial ritual teaches you how to be at cause and stay in your power.

Lord Krishna to the Warrior Prince Arjuna

The Bhagavad Gita is perhaps the single most important text in Hinduism. It is one chapter from the epic the Mahabharata. The frame story of the Mahabharata is a battle between cousins over who has the right to rule. Both sides claim legitimacy, and when they cannot settled the issue peacefully, they prepare for war.

On the eve of great Mahabharata battle, Arjuna asked his charioteer to drive their chariot out to the front line so he could look over the opposition he must face the next day. As he looked at his foes, he recognized his favorite teacher, Drona, and his beloved grand uncle, Bhishma, and many other relatives and friends. Horrified to realize that he must kill the very people he loved, he threw down his bow and arrow and told Krishna he would not fight.

Krishna gave Arjuna numerous reasons to fight. You must fight, he told Arjuna, or it will look like you are a coward, and the people will say you were afraid to fight. You are a prince, and you must set a good example for other people in the kingdom. If the prince refuses to fight, who else can be counted on to enter the battle? Remember, he said, it is your dharma. You are a warrior, and a warrior must fight. You'll build up good karma if you fight, because there is nothing better for a warrior than a just cause for which to fight. He reminded Arjuna of samsara. A person who is bom must die, and a person who dies will be rebom; the wise do not grieve over that, he said. Dying is like leaving aside wom-out garments, only instead, one is leaving aside a wom-out body. He instructed Arjuna that the only true essence is Brahman, and that Brahman cannot be killed. What dies is not essential. Further, he said, if you kill Drona, Bhishma and your cousins in battle, you enable them to build good karma, so you are really helping them.

Krishna then discussed moksha, the ultimate aim of life. If one experiences moksha, Krishna reminded Arjuna, he breaks the chains of samsara and rejoins Brahman and is not rebom. Krishna explained four yogas or methods to achieve moksha. One method is the yoga of meditation. Another is the yoga of knowledge. These were the methods that traditionally only Brahmins followed. But Krishna assured Arjuna that there were two other methods for achieving moksha that anyone might follow: the yoga of holy indifference and the yoga of devotion.

The yoga of holy indifference is called karma yoga. "You must be indifferent to the fruits of your actions," he told Arjuna. "You have a right to the deeds, never to the fruits. If you can perform your deeds but are holy indifferent to the results of your actions, you will not build up any karma and you will not be rebom. Fight because you are a warrior, but don't mind what happens or who wins. On action alone be thy interest, never on its fruits."

A fourth method for reaching moksha was the yoga of devotion or bhakti yoga. "Be devoted to me," Krishna said. "If you perform each act with your mind on the me alone," Krishna promised, "you will experience moksha." Devotion alone holds the key.

Arjuna was not convinced, so Krishna finally revealed his true identity to the warrior. Krishna was really divinity who had taken the form of a charioteer to help the Pandavas re-establish righteousness. His revelation was like the light of a thousand suns in the sky. As Arjuna looked at him, he saw all the world, all the gods, the universe, the One. Filled with awe, Arjuna agreed to fight.
